Speaker Bio: Rob Maaddi

Bestselling author, radio and television personality and dynamic speaker, Rob Maaddi has covered local and national sports for nearly 20 years for The Associated Press. He’s a Philadelphia-based sports writer/national football writer for AP, a Major League Baseball Hall of Fame voter and former president of the Philadelphia chapter of the Baseball Writers’ Association of America.

Rob has written or co-written six books. His latest title, Baseball Faith, was released in March 2017. Football Faith was released in August 2015. Rob hosts “Faith On The Field Show” Sundays noon-1:00 on Philadelphia’s 610 AM Sports ESPN Radio. Rob has hosted and co-hosted radio shows on 610-WIP, 94-WIP and ESPN. Rob and his wife, Remy, were breakout stars from WE TV’s first season of “Marriage Boot Camp” in 2013. They starred in the “Remy and Rob” spin-off before putting their television careers on hold following the birth of twin girls, Alexia and Melina, in August 2013.

A Philadelphia native, Rob received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Rutgers-Camden University and a Master of Journalism from Temple University. Rob is a member of the Deacons Prison Ministry softball team and recently launched along with his wife the Remy & Rob Be A Blessing Foundation http://beablessingfoundation.com/ to benefit trafficking victims and underprivileged children. He and his family reside in New Jersey.

Speaker Bio: Doug Horton

A native of Haddon Heights, NJ, Doug has always considered himself a true “4 for 4” Philadelphia fan. His love of sports led him to Eastern University where he received his BS in Health and Exercise Science with specificity in Athletic Training in 1999. He played four years of baseball at Eastern and then received an MS in Athletic Training from Indiana University in Bloomington. As a certified athletic trainer he has covered everything from pee-wee football to professional sports. Some high-profile events include the 2009 USA Men’s Soccer CONCACAF Gold Cup, 2008 US Gymnastics Trial Finals, 2008 and 2006 NCAA men’s basketball tournament 1st and 2nd rounds, 2004-2008 Pennsylvania State wrestling tournaments, 2001 Big Ten and NCAA wrestling tournaments, and the 2001 Big Ten and NCAA crew championships.

The passion Doug has for helping athletes stay healthy and succeed has grown to helping others less fortunate. Doug has done mission work in Haiti and serves with Rob on the Deacons Prison Ministry softball team. He is co-founder of a non-profit obstacle course event called Goliathon. Based in Mullica Hill, NJ, Goliathon holds bi-annual events and donates proceeds to charity:water to bring clean water to third world countries. When he isn’t directing his own event, Doug loves to run and train for other events with his friends.

Doug happily resides in South Jersey with his lovely wife Christine and their four daughters – Gracie, Paige, Aubrey and Lucy. His son Luke is in heaven.
